Welcome to Holeproof Industries, Northern Alaska's only real 4x4 and off-road shop. Providing custom fabrication & 4x4 parts for off-road vehicles in Interior Alaska.
We integrated a stinger and a tire carrier into one light, protective and simple unit. I originally came up with the idea some time ago, since I have a hard time lifting a full size spare tire after I broke my back in the ARMY. Later PSC started doing a similar set up. I have an upper bend that acts like a handle to lift and lower the carrier that I have a patent pending on. Four pivoting vibration-dampening mounts hold the stinger tire carrier to the Jeep, two upper and two lower. The two lower mounts are fixed to the rear bumper. The two uppers are attached to a set of YJ Off Your Rocker corner guards to spread the weight of a large off-road tire (with two backing plates set on the inside, behind the two upper mounts). Two pull pins are used for the upper mounts for quick and easy lowering the unit. Tailgate space remains unchanged and is easily accessible with the stinger down. The tire sits straight up and almost all of its weight rests on the lower bumper mounts. The outer sidebars help protect occupants or gear inside the Jeep in case of a rollover. The carrier is positioned to help the Jeep not roll completely upside down. The whole carrier can be removed in less than 5 minutes. We can incorporate any of these ideas into a custom set up for your rig. Please call or e-mail us with any questions you might have. With a 37" tire. With a 40" tire.
